Place of residency

Nadine Sterk (1977, Gorinchem) and Lonny van Ryswyck (1978, Tegelen) are graduates of the Design Academy Eindhoven (2007) where they now teach. In this same city, they also established the Atelier NL studio in what was once a neighbourhood church.

Nadine & Lonny present lectures and workshops worldwide where they share their methodology that concentrates on raw materials, responsible production practices, and good craftsmanship. They have exhibited in London, Paris, New York, Shenzhen and Chiang Mai, among other places. The exhibition at Museum van Bommel van Dam is their largest exhibition to date and is particularly special as it takes place near Lonny’s hometown, bringing their work full circle; drawn from the clay of their origin and personal connection to place.

Atelier NL is a design studio that reshapes local raw materials into everyday objects that showcase the richness of the earth. Atelier NL believes that design has the ability to connect local communities to the valuable resources that surround them. Their work explores the potential of local sourcing and production by focusing on the subtleties of the earth right under our feet.
