Discipline
fine arts
The starting point of my work is the interest in processes of perception and the question of how reality emerges in a social, societal and economic context. In questioning these processes and mechanisms, concepts emerge that interact with the given reality or change it. His interdisciplinary approach lies in the intermediate area of fine arts, architecture and design. Research is the basis of his work and he understands the process of examination as part of the respective work. The formulation shows itself in installations, performances, sculptures and books. Central concepts for his work is the ephemeral, the temporary and the fleeting. The focus is on the city as a space of experience and working in public space. How does built reality, through its design, order and function, determine social-urban coexistence?
Year of participation
2021
The project for Nieuwe Uitzichten begins with an intensive investigation of the urban conditions. More precisely, the project is developed from research on the conditions on site (situation), the green as a sociologically connoted image in the city (hanging gardens) and the question of new resource-saving, technological implementation possibilities (digital production possibilities, e.g. 3D printing). A performative approach will also be pursued, which understands the concept of the mobile immobile as part of the urban environment.
I am interested in aspects such as mobile acting in urban space based on spatial modules in the context of greening. In this context, the various forms and uses of plants as a design element will be addressed in particular, and their narrative potential will be explored. The result will be a temporary spatial sketch whose form will emerge in the course of the open process. Especially the temporary approach has the potential to formulate, materialize and evaluate ideas in the future. As a starting point for a further development or verification.
