Kati Masami Menze was born 05.02.1998 in Germany. From the age of eight, she was raised in Tokyo before she studied at Folkwang University of Arts. Since her first Production “LIMINALITIES” at in the Vacant Harajuku Theater in Tokyo, she is working as a performer, creator and builds bridges to other disciplines.
She has shown her works at institutions as PACT Zollverein and her current Dis-Tanz Solo research is supported by Dachverband Tanz. She is also based in Essen as a coordinator between the freelance network IG Tanz Essen and the space l lab.

In her work she often takes the role of a storyteller, to question the existing structures and our constant reproduction of toxic cycles with humor.
She is focusing on the „Liminal space“, the space which exists in any kind of theme between multiple realities to underline the fact that we always have a choice as a collective. Her artistic vocabulary is orientated in bodypractices. It is often used in combination with other resources.

Observatory Working Group is a temporary research group between performance, social practice and art. It consists of dancers Marius Ledwig and Kati Masami Menze, performance artist Daria Nazarenko and visual artist Nils Sehnert.
For CC Ringenberg #2, the four participants invented a participatory research project called LANDING POINTS. In this, they will focus on Bruno Latour's term: becoming terrestrial. To become terrestrial means to create a common ground – a ground that is not seen as a capital investment for resources, but as living space. This task can only be accomplished collectively with a multiplicity of voices and acteurs – human and non-human.
