Kunstmuseum Bochum

Kunstmuseum Bochum is where art and its role in social developments are presented and discussed. A committed team organizes exhibitions with contemporary artists and the art of the 20th and 21st century. Kunstmuseum Bochum offers space for discussions with and about artists, and hosts various events.

The residency is free from production pressure and does not foresee a result like an exhibition. As an art museum, the team of Kunstmuseum Bochum can provide exchange and collaboration with the curatorial team and other actors/institutions from the Ruhr region. If interested, residents can get access to the collection.

The residents are invited to apply with any topic and/or practice that makes sense in the context of their work.

There is no studio provided by the museum, but scholarship holders can be supported in finding one temporarily.

As accommodation, Kunstmusem Bochum offers a private room in a shared apartment that is managed by the museum. It is a simple place in the third floor of a house without lift, situated in a quiet area about 1,5 km from the city centre.
