PETERS-MESSER-STIPENDIUM / KUNSTGENERATOR-STIPENDIUM – VIERSEN

The entrepreneurial family Peters-Messer from Viersen and the city of Viersen consider it their task to support young artists and to enable them to further their artistic development within the framework of a scholarship. The scholarship is closely linked to the Städtische Galerie im Park museum, surrounded by the Viersen sculpture collection. From 2025 onwards the fellowship is linked to a residency obligation. The maximum duration of residency is four months.

The Peters-Messer-Stipendium der Stadt Viersen is an art scholarship that supports young artists beyond regional borders. It is offered nationwide at art colleges and academies. In the sense of a »public-private partnership«, it combines private commitment with municipal cultural sponsorship.

For the duration of four months, a spacious apartment in the center of Viersen-Süchteln is available to the scholarship holder free of charge.

Visual artists in the fields of  graphics, drawing, photography and works on paper are invited to apply. They should not be older than thirty-eight years. A degree in the artistic field is desirable. This should not be more than five years ago. A jury of experts will make the selection. Deadline 15. April of the year.
