INT. ATELIERSTIPENDIUM – MÖNCHENGLADBACH

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY
Since April 1998 and with the support of the Josef and Hilde Wilberz Foundation, the city of Mönchengladbach has awarded a six-month international grant for visual artists. Mönchengladbach provides the fellows with a studio and apartment and pays a living allowance. At the end of the scholarship, participating artists are expected to present the results of their scholarship period in the form of an exhibition, performance, film screening, reading or other forms. Additionally, a catalog will be published.
SITE AND LOCATION
With a population of about 260.000 inhabitants, Mönchengladbach is one of the bigger cities in the rural Lower Rhine area. It is home to many artists, museums and galleries and is the perfect starting point for trips to the metropolises between Rhine and Ruhr.
STUDIO AND ACCOMMODATION
We provide the artist with a studio to work in and a flat and support him individually as needed.
PROGRAMMATIC FOCUS
The artistic work doesn’t need to programmatically refer to the city of Mönchengladbach.
GRANT
550,-€ plus studio, accomodation and 9000,-€ for materials, exhibition and catalogue.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In addition to the 550 EURO per month, 9,000 Euros are available, which the artist can use as needed for material, an exhibition or a catalogue. We would like to be family-friendly as far as possible and support our scholarship holder to the best of our ability
