Place of Residency
Stefanie Klingemann works in the field of art in public space, performance and intervention. Since 2009 she has been leading the project MOFF KünstlerInnen im Gespräch. Numerous other projects, such as 10qm - an art project in public space or the festival KUNST BASIS EBERTPLATZ were developed by her and realized in collaborations. She has received various project grants and scholarships, such as the working scholarship Stiftung Kunstfonds, the studio scholarship Kölnischer Kunstverein, the residency scholarship Schloß Balmoral and Villa Casa Baldi, Olevano Romano. Her exhibition venues include Artothek Cologne, Arp Museum Rolandseck, Marta Herford, Kunsthaus NRW, IKOB Museum for Contemporary Art, Eupen.

»What takes shape in art can not only stimulate social discourse, but significantly shape it.« The body is always the first medium, serving as an instrument, projection surface, transformational space, and providing the possibility of exploring and designing new fields of perception and action. Here, the artist investigates symbolic representations and perceptual materialities in the form of events, processes, projects and actions, i.e. as real-time events. With the help of participatory strategies, viewers become involved participants, actors and co-creators. The artwork emerges in ephemeral processes and events and becomes a temporary intervention.

MOFF is an artists’ collective that aims to create art that can be experienced and shaped by all members of society.
MOFF always works as a team of artists and invites other creative minds to join the projects in order to be transdisciplinary and, depending on the form of the project and its goal, to be active in a diverse and multi-media creative way.
